Description: Siedlungsflächen verhindern aufgrund der Bebauung sowie der versiegelten Freiflächen einen natürlichen Wasserhaushalt und produzieren starke Oberflächenabflüsse. Um bei einem Normalniederschlag den Abfluss über die Kanalisation zu reduzieren und starke Oberflächenabflüsse bei Starkregen zu minimieren, gilt es auch kleinteilige Retentionspotenziale nach den Schwammstadtprinzipien auf den öffentlichen und privaten Grundstücken umzusetzen. Dies können Entsiegelungen, Grün- oder Retentionsdächer, Zisternen aber auch Rigolensysteme oder Tiefbeete sein. Jede Fläche, die das Regenwasser speichert und zurückhält, bringt einen für den Wasserhaushalt positiven Effekt.
